Strain-Stress Analysis

The overall view of the setup. It consists of 6 modular stations for 6 beams made of various materials. Each station is equipped with a stepper motor and its electronic driver, an electromagnet coil, and a latch mechanism for applying static and dynamic (both free and forced vibration) loads on the beams. Each station is also equipped with a CCD camera for viewing the experiment remotely over the Internet. Each beam has lateral and longitudinal strain gages that are connected to a bridge and amplifier module for sending their signals to the computer via data acquisition boards. The entire setup is controlled by the computer.
