The overall setup of the wind tunnel.  This experiment introduces the student to the use of Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) as a means of measuring air flow velocities.

The section drag of a NACA 0012 airfoil can be determined from velocity measurements obtained in the airfoil wake.
   
The 0.5 m x 0.7 m wind tunnel has a maximum velocity of 20 m/s.
